Concerned about climate change and the UN Copenhagen conference?
If you’re aged between 16-25 and have a burning question you’d like to address to your MPs then read on!
The Department of Energy and Climate Change and the Hansard Society are hosting an exciting Question Time debate for 80 young people on climate change and the critical United Nations Copenhagen climate summit. The audience will have the opportunity to challenge a panel of top-level UK Government Ministers including Energy and Climate Change SecretaryEd Miliband about the issues that are concerning them.
Taking place on Friday 4th December , just days before Copenhagen , the debate will be chaired by Kirsty Schneeberger , a co-ordinator for the UK Youth Climate Coalition and member of the International Youth Delegation to Copenhagen.
Although the event is now fully booked, we’d still like you to submit a question in advance with the chance that it could be put to the panel. Your question can be about anything to do with climate change, but please make sure it concerns the UK. For example, you could ask how the UK intends to safeguard young people’s rights in countries that are vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
Please email your questions to citizenship@hansard.lse.ac.uk by 2nd December 2009 , and remember to include your name, age and county where you live. We won’t be able to take any questions after this date.
To see if your questions are answered, watch the debate live online between 9:00am – 10:00am at http://www.actoncopenhagen.gov.uk/
This is a fantastic opportunity to get your views on climate change heard at the highest level so don’t miss out!
