Calling all climate campaigners!

24 Sep 2009

Does the climate change issue make your blood boil but you're not sure how and where to channel your energy?

Then Power Shift, a youth conference on climate change featuring fun and thought-provoking workshops on everything from Obama's campaigning tricks to the power of social networking, as well as some cool new bands, could be just the ticket.

Power Shift aims to give you the knowledge and skills to help make your voice heard on climate change and arm you with ideas on campaigning and communicating effectively.

And as well as workshops and inspirational speakers, there will be live entertainment, featuring some famous names which are being held under wraps for now.

Power Shift is organised by young people from the UK Youth Climate Coalition (UKYCC) and they are seeking 1,000 young people aged 16 and over from all backgrounds in the UK to come together to help trigger a nationwide youth movement on climate change.

To register for the four-day event, which takes place from 9 to 12 October at the Institute of Education in London, visit Power Shift’s website.

But be quick because ticket prices go up at midnight on Friday 25 September. Previous Power Shifts have taken place in the USA, Australia and India. Check out this video of Power Shift in Washington DC in March 2009:
