The Youth Advisory Panel of the Department for Energy and climate Change (DECC) is carrying out a survey of how 'fair' different types of energy production in the UK are, and they want to hear from you.
They'll be using a 'fair-o-meter' that will test each method according to things such as:
- Does a decision or action impact negatively on the future of young people?
- Does it cause 'ecological debt'?
- Does it work to safeguard the future for young people?
To have your say, take the survey by midnight on 17 November 2010.The DECC Youth Advisory Panel is a group of young people aged between 15 and 25 from various regions in the UK, representing all sectors of society from the National Union of Students (NUS) to young people working in the nuclear industry and development charities.
The aim of the panel is to inform everyone and anyone about what DECC is up to and likewise to let DECC know what sorts of wonderful things young people are up too. We are a medium of consultancy and conversation. They also aim to influence decision makers with your views as well as engaging and informing young people. Their first project is finding a 'Pathway to 2050', reviewing how energy will be supplied and used in the next four decades.
