Over five million people – half of them children – have been affected by new floods in Pakistan, and need help, fast.

Many children and families in Pakistan are still recovering from last year's floods, which were the worst in the country's history. Around 1.8 million homes were seriously damaged or destroyed, leaving millions of people homeless.

In some places, water is reaching waist height, while high temperatures and dirty water mean there is a high risk of diseases such as malaria and cholera. It is likely to take the country years to recover.

UNICEF are providing clean water to prevent the spread of water-related diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, and dysentery, which could kill children who are already vulnerable. We are also carrying out polio and measles vaccinations and providing medicines to treat diarrhea.
