Would you like to see your teacher dress up as Elvis? Or have a non-uniform day? How about dyeing your friends' hair blue, or running a cake stall at your school?
You can do all these things and raise money for children in need of aid on Day for Change.
Day for Change is an event where pupils get the chance to do something different in exchange for making a small donation to UNICEF. The last Day for Change took place on 6 February 2009, with thousands of schools taking part to raise funds for UNICEF’s health and wellbeing projects for children in Papua New Guinea. Check out the photos from Day for Change 2009.
Day for Change will be taking place again in 2010. Watch this space for more information about where the money raised will go and how you can take part.
How can I get involved?
Day for Change is easy to organise and UNICEF provides a free pack with education resources, fundraising information and posters so your school can make the most of the day. All you have to do is get your teachers to register your school!
By signing up to Day for Change your school can learn more about the lives of young people like Delma and Kesha, and help UNICEF ensure that more children like them in Papua New Guinea can achieve their right to health and well-being.
