Campaign success

In the run up to the election, UNICEF UK and our campaigners across the country urged parliamentary candidates to support three pledges to put it right for children if they were elected.

We receive over 450 pledges from candidates and numerous messages of support. So a big thank you to all our campaigners!

UNICEF UK’s Election Pledges
  1. Take urgent action to address the high rates of UK child poverty
  2. Champion the Millennium Development Goals
  3. Listen to young people in their constituency

UNICEF UK wants to see the new Parliament put child rights first when making decisions, tackle child poverty in the UK and keep the UK's promises on international development.

Once the new Government is in place, we will be asking all MPs who pledged their support before the election to take action and keep their promises. We'll also be urging MPs who have not yet done so, to pledge to put it right for children.
